Kindergarten tips with Detroit Country Day lower school director Jennifer Bullock

(WJBK) - For some parents with a young child at home, it can be hard to decide if they are ready for kindergarten.

Jennifer Bullock, Detroit Country Day lower school director, joined FOX 2 to share some tips and advice for parents.

She's coined an acronym for some of the essential Kindergarten skills: COPS

C is for Communication, including receptive and expressive language
O is for Observation, which includes the ability to match and sort items, make patterns, etc.
P is for Print awareness, that is letters and words
S is for Social/Emotional skills that are so important for school and home life
