Local author and filmmaker to premiere international 'docufilm' on deadly shipwreck

(WJBK) - FOX 2 welcomes Pierette Simpson to speak about her international "docufilm" -- part documentary, part film -- about surviving a deadly shipwreck in the 1950s.

The Novi resident was just 9 years old when she survived the controversial sinking of the Italian luxury liner near Cape Cod.

The film will premiere on Oct. 6 at the Detroit Institute of Arts Detroit Film Theater.
