Smart shirt from OMsignal tracks your workout

When you have a health question you ask Deena Centofanti. A money question you talk to Murray Feldman. A workout question you talk to Mr. Get Fit himself, Alan Longstreet. So Derek elisted Alan's help with this Tech Talk segment. Alan works out a lot, but as his friend, Derek worries about him. How do we know he's doing everything right?

That's where OMsignal comes in. It's state-of-the-art wearable technology.

"The technology is woven into the fabric of the shirt," explains Dave mackey, PR and Community Manager. "It picks up your biometric signals. In the case of OMsignal, we are able to pick up your heart rate and your breathing as well."

After a quick set up, the shirt is connected to Derek's phone and we're ready to test it out.

The shirt picked up on Alan's increased heart rate and breathing levels, while counting calories burned.

"I think this would be a great method of tracking heart rate and monitoring so you can have something live on your phone," says personal trainer Pierre Vinson.

Thoughts from the man actually wearing it?

"Gimme some sleeves. I just want some sleeves," Alan joked.

Well, good news for him. Newer versions, have exactly that. And, just announced at this year's CES, OMsingal will be releasing a smart sports bra in the spring of 2016.

The shirt kit costs $199 while the bra kit will be $149.
