1 dead, 7 injured in special needs van crash in Monroe County
MONROE COUNTY, Mich. (WJBK) - WEB UPDATE: A 60-year-old person in the special needs van was killed in the crash.
A van carrying passengers with special needs was involved in a fatal crash Friday in Monroe County.
One person died and seven are injured after a crash with a box truck at Heiss and Telegraph, according to Michigan State Police.
Two of the people injured are in critical condition. The box truck had a logo of Matco Tools on the side of it.
The van was hit by a box truck, investigators say, but it is unclear what caused the crash as well as the severity of the injuries.
