14-year-old boy injured in shooting in downtown Detroit

Detroit police are searching for several suspects following a shooting downtown Tuesday night.

Investigator say someone opened started shooting in the 1200 block of Washington Boulevard. A 14-year-old boy was hit in the left foot.

The boy was rushed to Detroit Children's Hospital of Michigan, and is expected to be okay.

Police say they're looking for up to seven suspects, and that they all ran off in various directions after the shooting.

Police aren't sure yet what led up to the shooting, which happened near Washington Boulevard and Grand River Avenue, which is about three blocks west of Campus Martius Park.
