OXFORD, Mich. (WJBK) - A 16-year-old boy died late Sunday night after he went missing in an Oxford Township lake and was later recovered by dive teams.
LaFrance Marshall from Oxford was swimming in Clear Lake Sunday night after he went missing in the water. His friends say he was last seen struggling about 50 feet from the shore.
Around 7:20 p.m., the Oakland County Sheriff's Office dive team was called to try and rescue the boy. They arrived and were able to pull him from the water and rush him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further details about the drowning are not known.
