2 kids suffer chemical burns from substance on park slide
LAPEER, Mich. (WJBK) - In Lapeer two children were treated for chemical burns from using a playground slide this week.
This happened at Cramton Park on Genesee Street. A 1-year-old boy suffered burns from an unknown substance on the slide and a 14 year old girl was injured as she tried to help the toddler get off the slide.
The teenager was treated and released while the little boy had to be transferred to a specialized burn unit at Hurley Medical Center for treatment.
Police took samples of the substance and sent it to a lab for testing. No word yet on what it is.
The slide is now closed indefinitely. All other playground equipment at the park was checked and cleaned as a precaution.
