ROMULUS, Mich. (FOX 2) - A 60-year-old Taylor woman died in the semi-truck crash that closed down I-94 near Metro Airport Friday afternoon.
The woman had been driving on Wick Road when she lost control of her car on a curve and went through a fence and ditch, ending up on I-94. The woman's car was headed east on the freeway's westbound side near Merriman, according to Michigan State Police.
Despite going the wrong way, her car somehow ended up striking the rear of a semi-trailer, which fatally injured her. The driver of the truck was not injured.
MSP tweeted that relatives of the woman have not been notified as the investigation continues by the Metro South Post and the crash reconstruction unit.
