Body found at site of vacant house fire in Detroit

Police have opened a murder investigation after a body was found after a fire at a vacant home Thursday morning.

Fire crews were called to the home in the 1100 block of Liebold Street, which is on the city's southwest side near I-75 and Fort Street. The fire also spread to a second vacant home, both of which are completely destroyed.

After the fire was extinguished authorities say they found a body that was missing some limbs. They aren't sure yet if that's due to the manner of death or the fire.

Authorities are working to identify the victim right now and have only said that he's a white male.

Authorities have opened an arson investigation for the original fire at the vacant house as well.
