Boy Scouts of America are out serving their community by participating in a clothing drive.

Scouts ages 5-20 will be canvassing the streets of Metro Detroit to pick up clothes people leave on their porches.

Last Saturday some may have received a door hanger letting you know that scouts will be by to pick those items up.

If you didn’t receive a door hanger you can still drop off clothes at any of the drop off locations.

Scouts will be in Metro Detroit locations in Rochester, Sterling Heights, Allen Park, Taylor, Wyandotte, Riverview, Southgate, Trenton, Birmingham, Madison Heights, Troy, Farmington Hills, Novi, West Bloomfield, White Lake, Wixom, Westland, Belleville, Redford and Wayne.

The clothes will be donated to STEP, a nonprofit that trains and employs adults with developmental disabilities.

The scouts will be out from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 7 drop off locations.
