Celebration of life held for slain Belleville woman

Nearly 500 people came out to Arbor Brewing Company in Ypsilanti on Saturday, all to celebrate the life of Egypt Covington.

The 27-year-old was found brutally murdered inside her home on June 23rd.

The brewery was packed with loved ones looking to share fond memories of Egypt, and offer an outpouring of love to her grieving family.

Along with the stories, Egypt was also honored by the brewery. ABC plans to brew a special beer every July 19th called "A Girl Named Egypt." Egypt use to work extensively with the brewery as an employee of Ray Beer and Wine Distribution.

A scholarship fund is also being set up in Egypt's name. It will award $500 annually to studetns studying music at Belleville High School.

The investigation into her death continues, with police saying they have received several tips, but still have yet to make an arrest. However, police say they believe the person who murdered her must have known her.
