Celebrities react to death of '90210' and 'Riverdale' star Luke Perry

Actor Luke Perry, known for roles in “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Riverdale,” died on Monday after suffering a massive stroke last week. He was 52.

News of his death triggered an outpouring of mourning from former co-stars, friends and fans from around the world on social media.

Former "90210" co-star Ian Ziering said he will "forever bask in the loving memories" the two shared over the last 30 years.

Charlie Sheen said Perry “made every situation better” and said he was “truly honored” to have known him.

“My heart is broken. I will miss you so much Luke Perry,” actor Molly Ringwald posted on Twitter.  “Sending all my love to your family.”

The official “Riverdale” writer’s room Twitter account called Perry a “joyful and vibrant soul.”

Alyson Stoner, who played Perry's daughter in the film "Alice Upside Down," wrote she was "grateful" to have known him.

"Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik shared a portrait of Perry on Twitter: "RIP Luke Perry," she posted with a broken-heart emoji.

Ryan Seacrest said watching Perry on "90210" inspired him to move to Los Angeles.

An Ohio native, the Cincinnati Reds shared a photo of Perry with former Reds player Ken Griffey Jr.

Actor Scott Foley called Perry "humble and kind."

Perry has played Fred Andrews, father of main character Archie Andrews, for three seasons on “Riverdale,” the CW series that gives a dark take on “Archie” comics, and has been slated for a fourth.

He was tapped for heartthrob status along with Jason Priestley on “Beverly Hills, 90210” for his role as Dylan McKay. The hit series ran from 1990 to 2000.

The same day he was hospitalized, FOX TV announced that it would be running a six-episode return of “90210” that features most of the original cast, but Perry was not among those announced.
