Check out lineup for this year's Detroit Jazz Festival

The 39th Detroit Jazz Festival is still months away but this year's big headliners are already booked.

The 2018 Detroit Jazz Festival isn't until Labor Day weekend, August 31 to September 3, but the annual partner preview luncheon at the DAC kicked off the buzz for the country's largest free jazz festival.

This year's artist in residence is jazz fusion pianist, Chick Gorea. The headliners are Esperanza Spalding, Regina Carter from Straight Ahead, Chris Dave, organist Lonnie Smith, and a tribute to the late Detroit pianist Geri Allen.

Not only jazz, but hip-hop, R&B and pop will be spread out on the four stages, from Hart Plaza to Campus Martius.
