Chick-fil-A opens first Detroit restaurant on Friday
The wait is almost over. Chick-fil-A is opening its first ever Detroit location on Friday inside the Detroit Medical Center.
Chick-fil-A and Hospital Retail Solutions are opening the location that will staff 50 employees at the restaurant at 3990 John R. Road in the main lobby of the Harper/Hutzel Women's Hospital.
The restaurant's hours are not available yet but one thing is certain: they will be closed on Sundays. The Atlanta-based restaurant chain remains closed on Sundays, per company policy.
This is the restaurant's seventh location in Michigan and first in Detroit. The chain has 2,200 locations across the country and is has up to 20 new stores planned for the state.
Currently, there are four Chick-fil-A's around Metro Detroit: the airport, Somerset Collection, Oakland University, and on campus at Eastern Michigan University. None of the locations, including the new one opening on Friday, are stand-alone restaurants.
