Cleared of rain, Tigers set to play season opener Friday

After a rainy Thursday, the Tigers are set to play ball Friday afternoon.

Officials called it yesterday just before 9 a.m., saying the rain just wouldn't let up. It was the first time an Opening Day game has been postponed at Comerica Park.

There's no chance of rain for Friday, but we'll see cooler temperatures with a bit of wind. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m., and it'll be about 42 degrees then.

For those who have tickets to the opening game, they'll be good for today still, too. If you can't make today's game the Tigers say your ticket is valid for entry to the ballpark at any game over the next 12 months. No exchange necessary.

If you don't have tickets, grab a seat at your favorite watch spot downtown. You can also join the watch party at the Chevrolet Plaza at Little Caesars Arena. They'll have the game up on the giant screen.

Tigers Opening Day game postponed due to weather

While you're downtown in the morning, be on the lookout for FOX 2's Charlie Langton. He'll be live on Facebook -- and if you find him you can get a free hot dog if you answer a trivia question correctly.

For those at home, pre-game coverage starts at 11 a.m. right here on FOX 2.
