Closures on I-75 again Monday for potholes

Parts of I-75 are closed down again Monday for more pothole problems.

Troy Police said around 8:15 a.m. that two lanes are closed on the northbound side near 14 Mile for repairs. The repairs are expected to take at least an hour.

Michigan State Police is also urging drivers to avoid the area. They tweeted Monday, too, saying to use caution on I-75 from I-696 all the way to county line.

"You can expect these potholes to pop up all the way until the road construction begins in March," the tweet read.

Last week, dozens of drivers got flat tires along I-75. MDOT crews have been out in the area for patch work.

Temperatures are expected to drop below zero several times again this week, and we're expecting several inches of snow as well. Officials urge avoiding the I-75 area in Troy if possible.
