Deadly crash closes EB I-94 at Chene in Detroit

DETROIT (WJBK) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 at Chene were closed due to a deadly crash.

The crash happened about 4:25 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators say the driver of a Chrysler sedan struck the median wall and veered across all four lanes. 

A 49-year-old Harper Woods man, who was behind the wheel, died in the crash.

It's not clear what caused the crash or if anyone else was injured.

All eastbound traffic was being diverted to Chene. The scene was cleared and the road reopened around 7:30 a.m.

Police have not yet given the name of the victim.
