Dearborn police arrest man from Fairlane shooting

DEARBORN - Dearborn police have arrested the suspect in Monday's shooting at Fairlane Mall.
The altercation between two men who knew each other, started over a pair of Cartier glasses valued at $2,500 to $3,500.
A suspected robbery attempt happened leading to the two men exchanging gunfire in a common area outside a jewelry store at about 4:30 p.m., but neither was injured.
The victim had a valid CPL.
Police are not releasing any further information about the suspect.
The mall was locked down by police after the shooting, with it being lifted at about 6:15 p.m. Police at that point released the statement that everything was "under control" and that shoppers were no longer in any danger.
Classes at nearby U of M Dearborn and Henry Ford Community College were both canceled due to the police situation.
