Detroit boiler ordinance raises concerns

But now DPS wants to have one engineer cover 5 buildings.

The engineers have filed a lawsuit challenging the proposal. But Are these boilers really that dangerous?

Mark Shrupp, COO of DPS says, "not true at all, all of our boilers have at least 9 safety features that all have to be in place and are currently in place as well."

Now DPS says that it will install new technology, a monitor on the low water cut off systems that will monitor the boiler and provide realtime conditions of the boilers to the engineers.

This plan, according to DPS officials, will save the school district about 3 million dollars.
