Detroit mother disappears days before birthday
”We just want to find her and bring her back to the family so we can stop hurting and stop crying and be alright again,” said Deandre Thompson.
A heartfelt plea from a son desperate to find his missing mother. Linda Turner was last seen on the job, cleaning at Happy’s Pizza on Plymouth near Greenfield in Detroit at 8 p.m. Dec. 3rd.
Her son Deandre Turner says she was just a few days away from celebrating her 58th birthday.
“My mom has this thing on her birthday – she gives my little sister and I this list of things she wants. My sister and I would almost be in competition and my mom loves it. ‘Who’s going to get me the best gift?’ When she didn't call on her birthday, that's when I started to get worried,” said Deandre.
Linda Turner’s relatives say they last saw her wearing a dark brown fur coat, a matching hat, dark brown pants, and gray boots. She’s known to frequent the 11700 block on Montrose on Detroit’s west side.
“Ever since this happened it’s like we’re in a big bad dream. My family and I just want this bad dream to end.”
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that will help police find Linda Turner. If you know anything about her disappearance, please call 1-800-SPEAK UP. As always, you will remain anonymous.
