Man killed in Detroit; police seek shooter

Police are looking for a shooter who they thought was barricaded in a Detroit home after killing a man.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit police are looking for the suspected shooter after a man was killed Wednesday.

Police are looking for Parrish Demone VanPelt, 26, in connection with the shooting.

Police said a 24-year-old man was shot to death in the 17100 block of Stoepel.

A 24-year-old woman was also hit by gunfire. She is in critical condition.

Chief James White said it appears a family dispute between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. led to the shooting. White said the VanPelt fled the house and crashed a vehicle.

Police initially believed VanPelt went back to his home and barricaded himself inside after the crash, but officers cleared the house and said he was not there.
