Dick McAuliffe, former Tigers 1968 champion, dies at 76
A former Detroit Tiger world series champion has died.
Dick McAuliffe, who played on the 1968 championship team, died Friday at the age of 76, according to published reports.
McAuliffe was a three-time all-star and played shortstop and second base from 1960 to 1973, before finishing with the Red Sox in 1974, 75.
For his career he batted .247 with 197 home runs and 697 RBIs.
