DPD search for suspect in attempted kidnapping of 5-year-old

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Video has been released of a suspect in an attempted kidnapping on Detroit's southwest side.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24. 

Surveillance video shows a man run into a yard in the 1000 block of Wheelock Street, which is near Waterman Street and the Fisher Service Drive. A 5-year-old girl and her 11-year-old sister were playing in the yard. 

Police say the man grabbed the 5-year-old - but say then her older sister started yelling or screaming and he let the girl go and took off running. 

Police describe him as a young white man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a brown goatee, wearing blue jeans.
