Empty Bowls Detroit dish it out to help feed homeless

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Tonight a fundraiser at Detroit's historic Eastern Market -- working to end hunger one bowl at a time.

Several members of the FOX 2 news team were on hand for Empty Bowls Detroit.

For a small donation guests enjoyed dozens of soups.. from some of Detroit's top restaurants.

Last year Empty Bowls raised more than $96,000 to benefit food programs at Cass Community Social Services.

Faith Fowler, a coordinator with the event says it doesn't matter what time of year it is - or the weather - people are hungry everyday.

Cass provides nearly one million meals to those in need - every year.
