Ex-boyfriend found guilty in murder of Kajavia Globe
DETROIT (WJBK) - A jury has found an ex-boyfriend guilty in the murder of Kajavia Globe.
Globe, 24, went missing in December and her body was found days later behind an abandoned home. She was found stuffed in a garbage can. Also, while she was still missing, someone in a skeleton mask had used her bank card at an ATM.
The jury announced Wednesday afternoon they found Maxwell Brack guilty of second-degree murder. Brack and Globe used to date. The spot where Globe's body was found on Fielding Street in Detroit was near a home where Brack had been staying.
Earlier in the trial, Globe's mother testified that she had never approved of her daughter's relationship with Brack, and that it was a domestic violence relationship.
Brack then took the stand later in the week, testifying that he no reason to kill Globe.
Brack told the court he and Globe had reunited and had been having sex earlier in the week, and that when Globe first went missing her mother called him at 3 a.m. and said Kajavia's boyfriend had found a video of Brack and Globe having sex.
"This was not like her to be missing," Brack testified. "I just figured John [Kajavia's current boyfriend] had seen the video. She didn't come home and now her mom is calling me; it's childish. We're grown adults."
Brack also denied being the man in the skeleton mask withdrawing $500 dollars from Globe's account.

Brack is scheduled to be sentenced on September 27.
