Fire burning at concrete business in River Rouge

Firefighters have worked for several hours Tuesday morning to get a fire under control at a concrete business Downriver.

A fire started at International Precast Solutions around 2:30 a.m. Firefighters have been at the scene for several hours now.

The fire was still burning as of 7 a.m., but firefighters have the situation under control. A nearby neighborhood is safe and has not been evacuated. We're told crews are just working to get a fire out that's burning on a gas main.

Meanwhile, employees are showing up to work and realizing their place of business on Haltiner Street, near Jefferson and Coolidge, is on fire and has been badly destroyed.

"[The fire] looks like it started like in the middle area of the building and then spread towards the yard and towards the back half of the building. One half of the building is still good, it looks like, but the other half, pretty much, they said it fell already," one employee, Mike DeCarlo, told us. He's worked there for five years.

We're told around 160 people work here. According to the company's website, they make and install concrete products that are used for parking garages and stadiums.

No injuries have been reported as of right now.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
