First penguin chicks hatch at Detroit Zoo's conservation center

With the cold weather moving in, why not embrace it? You can get an up close look at arctic animals at the Detroit Zoo.

Fox 2's Ryan Ermanni is at the penguin exhibit with more.

The Polk Penguin Conservation Center features more than 75 penguins of four species in a 33,000-square-foot facility that houses a a 326,000-gallon, 25-foot-deep aquatic area.

The Detroit Zoo also features Wild Lights, a 5 million light display throughout the front half of the zoo. Tickets are $11-17 online and $17 at the front gate. 

Wild Lights nights:
November 17-18, 23-25, 30
December 1-2, 7-9, 14-16, 20-23, 26-31

Wild Lights times:
5:30 to 9 p.m. select weeknights and Sundays
5:30 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays

They also show a Polar Express 4-D Experience at the 4-D Theater.
