Help needed raising puppies before their Leader Dog training

(WJBK) - Thinking of bring a puppy into your home? Leader Dogs for the Blind is in immediate need of volunteers to raise their puppies. Formal training can't begin for leader dogs until they've grown up and matured a little bit. So, puppy raisers help Leader Dogs for the Bling get through this major step.

As a puppy raiser, you'd be responsible for housebreaking and teaching good manners, as well as basic obedience training. You would raise the puppy for about a year, and then it returns to Leader Dogs for the Blind for formal training.

Leader Dogs for the Blind is also looking for host homes for three breeding stock "moms". Breeding stock hosts to "moms" are responsible for keeping breeding dogs healthy and safe in their homes, and that includes caring for puppy litters and puppies for their first six to seven weeks of life.
