Hockey community comes together for paralyzed Macomb Dakota player
(WJBK) - A great scene Thursday night in Mount Clemens, as some Red Wings players got together for a good cause.
It was the annual Eastside Elite Hockey All-Star Game and it was packed with fans.
The event was hosted by Michigan native and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Steve Oleksy and Red Wings Dylan Larkin and Danny Dekeyser were on the ice.
The Detroit duo were supporting Anthony Mastronadi, a junior defenseman at Macomb Dakota who was paralyzed during a game last December.
Mastronadi took part in the opening faceoff and all of the money raised last night will go towards the Anthony Mastronardi Fund. which is designed to help high school players who are seeking to attend college.
