'I want justice': Pontiac man suffers third-degree burns after being intentionally lit on fire

An investigation is ongoing after a Pontiac man was intentionally set on fire while at a friend's home on Monday.

The 49-year-old victim's daughter, Ayana Trimble, said she didn't learn about the assault until hours later. She was the one to report the attack.

What we know:

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded around 2 p.m. Monday to a home in the 100 block of Cherry Hill Drive in Pontiac after learning that a man had been severely burned.

When they arrived, they learned that two men had set the victim on fire with an aerosol can and lighter around 1 a.m., but the assault wasn't reported until the victim's daughter heard what had happened.

"No one called, no one helped him," Trimble said. "They called hours later like, ‘Hey, your dad needs help.’"

Trimble said her father was asleep when a 30-year-old Pontiac man and a 28-year-old Independence Township man burned him. The assault was recorded and posted online, Trimble said.

FOX 2 is not sharing these videos because they are extremely graphic.

The victim suffered third-degree burns on his neck, left arm, and left side of his body.

"It hurts. I cried, but you know, can't keep crying. I want justice," Trimble said.

What we don't know:

It is unclear if the suspects are in custody.

The OCSO Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the assault.
