Keegan-Michael Key, Judge Damon Keith to co-Grand Marshal Thanksgiving parade
DETROIT (WJBK) - The Parade Company announced this year's Thanksgiving day parade will be co-Grand Marshaled by Judge Damon Keith and comedian Keegan-Michael Key.
Key grew up in Southfield and went to Shrine Catholic High School in Royal Oak where he got into acting. He's best known for his work on MADtv and the Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele.
Detroit native Judge Damon Keith has been on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for a decade, and is a giant for Civil Rights justice.
The pair will also be joined by U.S. Olympic athletes Allison Schmitt, Aly Raisman and April Ross, singer and songwriter Mike Posner, Motown singer Martha Reeves of Martha and the Vandellas, the Broadway cast of Motown the Musical.
Also joining this year as a signature piece of the parade is the Yankee Air Museum Rosie the Riveter Tribute Corps including two original riveters, Iva Davie and Laura Eglinsdoerfer.
The 90th America's Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van is on Thursday, November 24. The parade steps off at 8:50 a.m. at Kirby and Woodward.
