Looking to adopt? There's more than cats and dogs available

While you may think of the Michigan Humane Society as a great place to adopt wonderful dogs and cats, did you know that they often have a wide variety of other great pets available for adoption?  About 8,000 dogs and cats find new loving homes through MHS each year, thanks to our generous community, so it's understandable that most people think we have just dogs and cats, puppies and kittens. The hope is potential adopters will also think of MHS when they're looking for birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and more.  MHS adoption counselors will ask you some questions and help you find the right pet for your family, home and lifestyle.  Visit an MHS adoption center in Detroit, Rochester Hills or Westland (Mon.-Sat.), or Petco in Sterling Heights (7 days a week).    Check out the online pet list at www.michiganhumane.org.
