Man charged with OUI following disruption at Troy steakhouse
TROY, Mich. (WJBK) - An inebriated man was arrested after causing a disturbance at a Troy steakhouse, which included attempting to touch a woman and drinking a random drink off the bar, then taking off in his car.
Police say around 7:21 p.m. they were called to the Morton's Steakhouse on Southbound Livernois Avenue, South of W. Maple Road on reports that an intoxicated man was causing a scene.
The man was asked to leave after attempting to touch a female patron's arm, then drank an alcoholic beverage he'd grabbed off the bar. He then left the building and urinated in the parking lot, then drove away in a white 2007 Chevrolet Malibu.
A responding officer located the suspect last seen eastbound on West Big Beaver Road, and found that he was driving erratically. The officer pulled over the 41-year-old man from Clinton Township and noted the smell of alcohol coming from the car.
Police say man admitted to having two alcoholic drinks and was asked to take a field sobriety test, which he performed poorly. He was arrested after refusing to take a preliminary breath test.
A search warrant for a blood test was obtained and executed. The man was charged with preliminary breath test refusal, transporting an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect has not yet been arraigned, according to Troy police.
