Man found shot to death in middle of street

Authorities are investigating after a young man was found shot to death in the middle of a neighborhood road early Friday morning.

Neighbors heard shots in the middle of the night and called police. Police found a man in his 20s who had been fatally shot outside a home in the 8,600 block of Brace Street, which is near Joy Road and the Southfield Freeway.

Police say the victim had been shot at least four times from a close range. Police say a light blue Ford Taurus is at the scene that they believe may be connected to the shooting. Neighbors told police they hadn't seen the vehicle before.

"My kids are getting ready to get up, and I have a 4 year old; my babies are going to see this. We need to get it together. This is ridiculous," said a neighbor who heard the shots, Keisha Carter.

If you were in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious, or have other information that could help police, you're asked to call the Detroit Police Department.
