Man shot four times by CPL holder at Detroit's Sawyer park

A 26-year old man is in critical condition after he's shot at a Detroit park.
 
The shooting happened at Sawyer park late Sunday night after a Cooley High School 2007 reunion.

A 27-year old woman and her 26-year-old finance were arguing. The woman took off in her fiancé's truck but later returned to the park and more arguing ensued.

The man then broke out the window on the truck and the girl took off.  A bystander, who has a concealed pistol license, saw the whole situation unfold.

The bystander told police the man then charged at him, leading him to the shoot the 26-year-old.

"The man he believed assaulted someone else came charging towards him," said Cmdr. Brian Mounsey. "He was concerned for his safety after seeing the altercation. He asked the individual who was charging towards him to stay back.

“That individual didn't comply, he produced a weapon, warned him again, the CPL holder subsequently fired several shots."

The man was hit 4 times and is in critical condition.

"The CPL holder called 911 and stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation."

The man was hit 4 times and is in critical condition. The CPL holder was not arrested.

As of now there are no charges filed against the CPL holder but police still are investigating.
