Police: Man tricks elderly woman into giving him thousands

WESTLAND, Mich. (WJBK) - A man has been arrested for tricking an elderly woman into giving him thousands of dollars.

Police say 38-year-old Tony Ross went to the woman's home in Westland and convinced her that she urgently needed concrete sidewalk repairs. She handed over $3,500.

Police say Ross exaggerated the repairs and never completed them.

He has been charged with embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, and fraud. Police say this is his second offense.
