Study: Pasta won't make you fat

It’s time for carb lovers to cheer. New research suggests that pasta isn't actually making you gain weight.

Scientists in Canada developed a system to rate the glycemic index of foods. They discovered a little more than three half-cup servings of pasta a week did not affect weight.

In fact, participants in the study lost about a half pound during the three-month period.

Researchers say it all comes down to pasta's low glycemic index. It doesn't appear to increase blood sugar levels in the same way other carbohydrates do.
