The Port Huron Police Department said Tuesday that a man suspected in the foiled robbery of a gas station was found dead.

Police announced that Jordan Neil Mason, 30, was found dead inside his home on Saturday afternoon.

Police also said that Mason was the suspect in the attempted robbery of the Marathon Gas Station on January 5.

During that attempted robbery, a gunman walked into the gas station around 10 p.m. armed with a rifle and wanting a lot more than gas. He confronted a sleepy, albeit confident, clerk who grabbed his rifle.

The suspect ran off with the gun but not before he was caught on camera, surprised by the brave clerk's actions

Mason was dead by the time police arrived. His body was sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy. Details of his death are not being released at this time.
