UPDATE (6 p.m.): Police have not found any suspects but have cleared the area around 1200 Wheelock.

Police swarmed a southwest Detroit house for a standoff following a Redford armed robbery. After a few hours of a standoff, it was determined no suspect was inside the house.

Officers are still looking for the suspects, who robbed a woman at gunpoint at a motel in Redford Township.

Officers spotted the suspects' vehicle, a gray Chrysler 300 and pursued it to the area of Solvay and Lafayette in Detroit.

When they abandoned their vehicle, police say a canine unit tracked the suspects to a house in the 1200 block of Wheelock.

Once police converged on the block, a PA system was used to get the suspects to surrender, but noone came out.

A nearby school, Roberto Clemente Elementary was put on lockdown while family members tried to get answers.

But suspects refused to give in. That's when police say they administered gas inside the home to get the remaining suspects out. More police were brought in including the MSP Bomb Squad.

The suspects remain at large.
