Suspicious person prompts shutdown of Cadillac Place

A state office building in Detroit was shut down Monday morning after authorities say security found a suspicious person in the building overnight.

Michigan State Police told FOX 2 they expected Cadillac Place to be closed until noon on Monday, but our reporter Camille Amiri says she spotted people going back into the building around 8 a.m.

Authorities tell FOX 2 a suspicious person got into the building around 2 a.m. through a door that remains unlocked for an ATM just inside. Security got concerned after the person made a suspicious remark. State police searched the building and the all-clear was given.

No one was immediately taken into custody. Police are investigating.

Cadillac Place includes a number of state offices, including Detroit offices of the governor. Few people typically work there in the overnight hours.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 2 for updates.
