Two people dead, child injured after Detroit house fire

DETROIT (WJBK) -- Two people are dead and a boy is injured after a Detroit house fire early Sunday morning.

Fire started in the house, located on Melbourne Street between Brush Street and Oakland Avenue, around 5 a.m. Sunday.

Three people were home at the time of the fire, including a 27-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man who died in the home.  A 9-year-old was able to escape the house before it collapsed and was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
