Two shot and killed on Detroit freeway, police searching for third passenger
DETROIT (WJBK) - Two people were found shot inside a white Ford Focus on Saturday evening on west 7 Mile and Southfield Freeway.
The shooting occurred just before eight. The female victim, who was driving, managed to exit the freeway before she died, crashing into oncoming traffic. A male victim also died from his wounds, while the third passenger is no where to be found.
The overpass was shut down for several hours Saturday evening. Police said the Focus was shot at multiple times on the freeway.
"We believe that it may have happened on the actual freeway -- the southbound side of the Southfield Freeway," said Detroit Police Captain Arnold Williams.
Officials are not sure who fired the shots. The third passenger ran away and is wanted for questioning.
According to police, the passenger is a black male with medium completion, last seen wearing dark jeans, a white shirt, and a black jacket.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Michigan State Police or Detroit police.
