UAW members could get a look at tentative labor deal as early as this weekend

DETROIT -
A tentative agreement is in place between the United Auto Workers Union and Fiat-Chrysler.

FCA CEO Sergia Marchionne says the deal will bring workers significant benefits.

"It's very unusual. It's not unprecedented. Rarely do you see CEO and a union president make an announcement together," said Christina Rogers, Wall Street Journal Auto Analyst.

Although negotiations went hours past the deadline, both sides were able to avoid a strike and reach a deal that seem to satisfy all parties so far. No one knows how this cordial relationship will be viewed by union members.

"Members want to see that the union fought hard. Some may rate it and say did they fight hard to get a good deal?" said Rogers.

Union meetings will be taking place across the country. The UAW still has to draft out a summary of the tentative agreement and send it out to members before vehicles are made under a new contract. That can happen as early as this weekend.

"It depends on how quickly they want to move. I get the sense that they want to move quickly because they want to start working on GM and Ford," said Rogers.
