Police in Orion Township are looking for the driver of a white mini van who didn't stop after hitting a woman walking her dog. The woman was hurt and her dog was killed.

The crash happened Wednesday around 7 a.m. on Morgan Road.

Police say the 66-year-old woman walking west with her dog in the eastbound lane, so that she could see oncoming traffic. Police say the driver of a white mini van was also going westbound on Morgan Road, but crossed onto the wrong side of the road and hit the woman and her dog from behind.

The victim yelled for help and for the driver to stop, but the driver kept going.

Another driver eventually stopped to help and called 911.

The woman's arm was fractured and her dog, a 10-year-old poodle mix, was killed.

Police say the suspect's car is a General Motors mini van made sometime between 2005 - 2009. The van has a wide, black trim or rub rail on its sides, as seen in the photo above, and could have damage to the front end and possibly the driver's side mirror.
