Woman's bleeding body found on Pontiac street
PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) - The body of a 44-year-old woman was found lying in the street in Pontiac around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
A man walking in the area discovered the body near Baldwin Road and Grandie Avenue. She was bleeding and had been shot at least twice.
"Ultimately the medical examiner makes the determination of the causal factors but it appeared on scene as if there was at least one gunshot wound in the abdomen area." said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and CPR was performed, but the woman was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Police have not yet identified the woman and are investigating the case.
The sheriff says this type of crime will not be tolerated in his county.
"We also don't believe this was random," Bouchard said. "We are running a couple different potential leads."
Police are searching for the person responsible. Bouchard said those with information are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (313) 922-5000 for a potential reward.
