Metro Detroit weather: Breezy start with some light afternoon snow
Light Afternoon Snow
Still breezy this morning but not enough to warrant a wind advisory. Low pressure expected to bring light snow to SE Michigan this afternoon. Meteorologist Lori Pinson has your forecast
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A breezy, not a windy start. What that means is although we will experience winds in the 15 to 20 mph range, they won't reach wind advisory levels.
Still, the breeze is enough to produce wind chills this morning in the teens north of the city, 20s to our south – about 10 degrees colder than the actual air temperature.
This afternoon, a fast moving area of low pressure, known as a "clipper" will move through the state, bringing with it a chance for light snow. In the Saginaw/Flint area, accumulating snow in the 1 to 2 inch range. South of that, New Baltimore, extending south toward the city, will have lighter amounts. Possibly a half inch to an inch the farther north you go.
Temperatures will moderate this week, near 40 on Thursday so the next system coming in will be in the form of rain on Friday. Windy conditions again by Sunday.
