Cruise For A Cause Aug. 23

Detroit Central City's signature event is back! Cruise For A Cause happens Tuesday August 23.

This dinner cruise along the Detroit River has been a crucial fundraiser for DCC to be able to provide behavioral and mental health services since 2008.

The yacht will set sail from Jefferson Beach Marina at 6 PM.

Tickets are $150 including all inclusive access to the yacht, drinks, dinner and live entertainment provided by Persuasion. You can get more information and tickets online here

Caribbean Flat Iron Steak (10 servings)

4 lbs Beef Steak Flat Iron
Oil Blend Canola & Extra Virgin
Salt & Pepper

Marinate the steak in extra virgin olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper
Remove from marinade & season with salt.
Place on a grill and cook for 8-10 minutes until it reaches 125 degrees. Slice on a bias and serve

Chimichurri Sauce (10 servings)

1/2 bunch Fresh Parsley
0.3 oz Fresh Cilantro
1/2 tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper
0.4 oz Garlic Clove,  peeled
1/2 tablespoon Ground Cumin
0.4 cups White Balsamic Vinegar
0.8 cups Oil Blend Canola & Extra Virgin
0.3 tablespoons Kosher Salt
Pinch Black Pepper

Remove stems from parsely & cilantro and discard
Puree all ingredients in food processor until smooth.

Baja Sauce (10 servings)

1/4 tablespoon Peeled Garlic
1 oz San Marcos Chipotle Adobe Pepper
1/2 cup Extra Heavy Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/2 Lime
0.2 oz Fresh Cilantro

Roughly chop garlic, chipotle chiles and cilantro.
Zest and juice limes.
Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Fruit Salsa for Snapper Taco (10 servings)

1 oz Red Pepper
0.7 oz Roma Tomato
1 oz Grape Tomato
1.5 oz Fresh Mango
0.1 oz Peeled Garlic
0.2 oz Fresh Cilantro
1 teaspoon Fresh Lime Juice
1 pinch Chili Powder
0.2 teaspoons Ground Cumin

Combine all ingredients together and let sit for 1-2 hours before serving
