Local vet writes children's book to help with losing a pet

A local vet wrote a children's book to help kids deal with the loss of a pet. A portion of the proceeds go to the ASPCA.

Dr. Corey Gut, DVM, from DePorre Veterinary Hospital, joined us on The Nine to tell us more about her book, "Being Brave for Bailey."

"Losing a family pet is obviously losing a family member. So, when people were preparing for that - whether they had gotten a diagnosis of something terminal or whether it was just an aging, senior pet - one of the most common questions I would get is, 'How do I explain this to my children?'" she says. "So, after extensive research ... I decided I wanted to put something out there so families had something available to introduce the topic."
