The importance of litter training for kittens

In this week's Pet Connect, Corinne Martin from the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society offers an important  reminder for pet owners about the importance of proper litter training for kittens. Kittens are babies, they need to be confined to a small room with their litter box until they are completely reliable at about 6 months old. The can come out of the room when supervised but should not be left in the entire house alone. Kitten litter boxes should not be in the basement. They should also be scooped twice daily and litter changed out about once a week. If you have multiple kittens you should have multiple litter boxes. Good litter box habits as a kitten will result in good habits as an adult. This week's adoptable pet is: "Angelina" she is a female, orange and white 10-month-old kitten.
