A wet start tonight to 2019

It looks like a wet and soggy start to the 2019 year in metro Detroit tonight.

But FOX 2 Weather Authority Rich Luterman says the heavier, steadier rains are pushing off to the east in the early evening hours of Monday.

It will remain damp tonight, but temps will hang around 35 to 40, while north of Saginaw the forecast calls for snow and ice.

Expect breezy and cool conditions with a few showers tonight and a temperature of 35. New Year's Day the rain finally stops leaving mostly cloudy conditions but cool and dry.
